Friday Night League (FNL) The following dates have been allocated. They are as follows:
15th June, 29th June, 13th July, 27th July, 10th August, 24th August. All matches will meet at
18:00, draw 18:15 and fish 19:00 until 24:00. Usual rules apply, if unsure, see rule book.
Fishing in the middle of Lily pads
It has been noticed recently that a lot of fish of varying sizes
have been found to have varying degrees of damage to their mouths, i.e. carp, tench etc. It seems that
members are placing their baits in the middle of the pads and when they get a ‘take’ they are
‘bullying’ the fish out of the pads with stronger than necessary force resulting in mouth damage
regardless of landing or losing the fish. This practice has to stop immediately.

Disabled Swim (peg 1 )
All members are reminded that Peg 1 is a designated Disabled Swim.
If you are using it and a disabled member comes on to the water to fish, please offer the peg to them
and offer any assistance if they need it. The combination to the disabled gate has now been changed
and only disabled members have been informed of the new code.

Polite notice from the Committee
Committee members have asked that you, the members,
please refrain from making telephone calls to committee members after 8:30pm as this disrupts family
life and disturbs children.

How’s the Dell fishing ???
The Dell is fishing well for silvers on maggot and caster. Carp are still
coming out but winter is upon us once again so it’s slightly harder. Scale down your tackle and you
should still catch but be prepared to wait. Last month a 23lb 8oz carp was landed by Mr George
Worbouys.
Fisheries Manager, Mr Roy Jones has asked that due to the recent problems at
the Dell, dip tanks have been re-introduced. These will be sited inside the inner gate by the dam and
on the high bank by peg 27. YOU MUST dip and rinse your nets and mats on entry to the Dell and
when leaving the Dell. This is a CEFAS and an EA Regulation to stop cross infection to other
fisheries. There will be notices distributed around the fishery to remind you of your responsibility to
carry out these simple requests.

Bailiffs
Please be aware that glass and cans of any description are not allowed on the Dell at any
time. REMEMBER, you are responsible for your own litter, please take it home with you and not
leave it on the lakeside. Please remember that when fishing on the Dell, make sure that you use an
unhooking mat, (now in the rule book). REMEMBER, it’s your fishery and they’re your fish, they
cost a fortune, so their preservation and welfare should be paramount. The use of braid on the Dell is
strictly forbidden. (see rule book), BRAID IS STRICTLY FORBIDDEN, if you get caught using
braid, you WILL lose you membership, so be warned. The Bailiffs will be carrying out spot checks on
your fishing tackle, you will be asked to retrieve your gear for inspection, if you refuse without good
cause, you will be brought in front of the committee with the possibility of the suspension or loss of
your membership.

Website Notice Board
As you are all aware, the Society has its own website,
www.dellangling.co.uk that gives all the information about the Society, including membership, fees,
match results, recent photos of catches etc., it also advertises the Society and in turn allows you to
advertise yourself. Any type of business at £25:00 per annum, per full page, anything for sale etc. with
prices on request. For any information on the above please contact:
Mr John Barter or Mr R Chipperfield (at club meetings), for further details or see back page.

2012 Olympics
It has now been confirmed that the shooting and archery for both the
Olympics and the Paralympics will be held on the sports field at the Woolwich Barracks and
Woolwich Common. The dates for these events are:
Olympic Games: 28th July - 5th August 2012
Paralympics Games: 31st August - 5th September 2012.
These dates will incur road closures and will consist of Ha Ha Rd and Repository Rd to the Parade
Square. Greenhill will be the only Entry / Exit to and from the Dell. As it’s early days just yet,
everything mentioned above is subject to change.

London Marathon 2012
The 2012 London Marathon will take place on Sunday 22nd April. Be
aware that this will incur road closures in and around the Woolwich area which will affect entry and

members or responsible adults members.
