If you are using it and a disabled member comes on to the water to fish, please offer the peg to them and offer any assistance if they need it. The combination to the disabled gate has now been changed and only disabled members have been informed of the new code.

Polite notice from the Committee
Committee members have asked that you, the members, please refrain from making telephone calls to committee members after 8:30pm as this disrupts family life and disturbs children.

How’s the Dell fishing???
Fisheries Manager, Mr. Roy Jones has stated that the Dell has been fishing really well, this seems to be due to the new fish motivating the old stock into feeding. This should continue as the weather improves. The peg under the willow was very productive during the latter end of March with several lower double figure fish coming to the bank. It has been noticed that
members are leaving the combination to the inner gate on the lock; this has to stop to prevent non-members entering the Dell. It only takes a second to take it off, please ensure that this is done each time you enter the Dell.

The laying of the Barley Straw was completed during the work parties. The latest fish stocking has also been completed. Many thanks to all those who attended the scheduled work parties, a lot of work/jobs were completed. All those members who failed to attend the work parties expect the relevant fine! The lake is looking good at the moment; it’s being kept clean and tidy for the time being, let’s keep it that way. The lake is still fishing well at the moment and should continue to do so as the weather improves. The car park has been extended, could members please park on both sides.

Bailiffs
Please be aware that glass and cans of any description are not allowed on the lake at any time. REMEMBER, you are responsible for your own litter, please take it home with you and not leave it on the lakeside. Please remember that when fishing on the Dell, please make sure that you use an unhooking mat, (now in the rule book), it has been reported that fish have been laid on the shingle surrounding some swims for unhooking purposes. REMEMBER, it’s your fishery and they’re your fish, they cost a fortune so their preservation and welfare should be paramount. The use of braid on the Dell is strictly forbidden. (See rule book) The use of bivvies is still allowed at the Dell, but definitely not allowed on the high bank. If anyone is caught doing so, they will be brought in front of the committee.

Society’s chosen Charity
This season’s charity nominated by the Society is for ‘Prostrate Cancer UK’ so please continue your support for this worthy cause. A collection tin is available at all club meetings and behind the bar at any other time, if you wish to donate your ‘small change’ or any unwanted notes, this does not include IOU’s, Ha Ha. It’s your generosity that makes it all worthwhile. This will continue to run until the November 2010 Club monthly meeting and the Charity Presentation will follow afterwards. This will include a stall from the Charity itself. As usual, there will be a buffet laid on including lots of raffle prizes. Please stay on and enjoy yourselves, it’s all for a good cause. If can donate a raffle prize, be it a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates, all donations will be gratefully received.

Website Notice Board
As you are all aware, the Society has its own website, www.dellangling.co.uk that gives all the information about the Society, including membership, fees, match results, recent photos of catches etc., it also advertises the Society and in turn allows you to advertise yourself. Any type of business at £25:00 per annum, per full page, anything for sale etc. with prices on request. We also have a forum where members can chat among themselves, ask questions etc. called
tacklechat.com, please give it a try. For any information on the above please contact:
Mr. John Barter or Mr. R Chipperfield (at club meetings) for further details or see back page.
2012 Olympics
It has now been confirmed that the shooting and archery for both the Olympics and the Paralympics will be held on the sports field at the Woolwich Barracks. The dates for these events are:
Olympic Games: 28th July - 5th August 2012
Paralympics Games: 31st August - 5th September 2012.
These dates will incur road closures and will consist of Ha Ha Rd and Repository Rd to the Parade Square. Greenhill will be the only Entry / Exit to and from the Dell. As its early days just yet, everything mentioned above is subject to change.
